Set against the backdrop of the National Botanic Gardens ‘ Great Palm House,  Frameworks explores humanity’s heavy, shifting imprint on the Earth. Since the 15th century, colonial extraction and imperial expansion have deeply fractured our climate.

This exhibition bridges that divide, blending organic matter with rigid architecture to trace the friction between fragile ecosystems and the destructive mechanisms of colonial dominance. Housed in everyday objects, the materials—soil, paper, video, and sound—breathe and shift with their surroundings. Video loops play directly onto the earth, a lone bird sings from a wooden case, and metal structures transform under light and shadow, inviting fresh perspectives on our scarred and deeply contested landscape.
